i found a leak in a metal can inline with nylon tubing , right near firewall
line goes into firewall with rubber mounted grommet.
line heads towards front of vehicle and disappears under battery tray
don't see this listed as one of the p/s lines available
any ideas what this part is

Do you have an auto transmission? I don't think I have that on my manual car.

All the PS lines are on the pass side and then run along the top of the rack to the drivers side end then back along the top of the rack through the cooler to the PS reservoir. IIRC.

I had to replace the high pressure steel line on top of the rack due to rusting a hole in it.

FWIW, the steel crimp can be cut off and underneath is usually just a hose on a barbed fitting. So as long as the steel line is OK you can just use a hose clamp. They make special ones for fuel lines that have a smooth lining.
