I have a 2006 Terracan turbo diesel.
Well I have committed the ultimate blunder.
I have put 8 ltrs of petrol in my diesel tank which by the way is full.
I had it towed home thinking i could drain it easily.
Wrong there is a cover and no bung of any sort can be found.
Can anyone advise (other than having it towed to a garage) how to go about draining the tank or a web site with the info.
This would be most appreciated.

A thin plastic hose inserted via the filler opening and siphon out. Will take a while. If the motor has not been started be ok to refill completely and go. Should have fuel filters changed also.

Make that "If the key has not been turned ON with the gas in the tank" but the potential for engine harm is GREAT and I certainly would not take a chance with a DIY fix.

My advice is to let a shop drain the ENTIRE fuel system.

Ah, shoot, Samohen. I feel really badly for you. We all make mistakes. I've owned diesel in the past, and my mom currently does, and while I never did this myself, I'm sure it could have happened easily. Although, in Oregon, we don't have self-serve, so at least I could partially blame the gas station attendant.
