Hi,

I recently got my 2011 Sonata GLS (Canadian) and after driving it for a few days, I noticed a glue smell or overheating smell at the exterior back of the vehicle (the wheels)...does anybody else have or notice this? Not sure if it is a new car smell or something...

Most new cars have oils, stickers, and other things stuck to the exhaust that needs to burn off. This shouldnt take more than a couple days though and it shouldnt be overpowering.

If you see smoke, or the smell persists after a couple weeks, I would definitely have it looked at, but most likely, its just normal new car smell.

If you are really concerned, get some car ramps, drive the car up some ramps and crawl under there and start sniffing!

Yeah dont worry about it. I picked up my GLS on saturday and until wednesday I had a that faint smell of glue and oil. Im pretty sure it normal though. So nothing to be too alarmed about. Its Friday now, and no smell at all...aside from the new car one :thumbsup:
