I'm looking to get a dedicated set of summer wheels for my 2017 Elantra GL. I put my winter tires on the stock 16x6.5 alloys that came with the car. I'd like to go up to a 17x7 wheel for summer, mainly for the looks.

I've selected an aftermarket wheel I like, but I'm on the fence as to what tire size to put on the rim. I'm split between a 215/45/17 and a 225/45/17 tire.

My research tells me the Elantra GLS has a 225/45/17 option and the Elantra Limited comes with 215/45/17, but this information may be incorrect.

Is there anyone here who can provide feedback and help me make this decision?

I though all the 17+ models with the 17" wheels had 225/45R17's. The previous years used 215/45R17.

Thanks for the info. 225/45/17 is the size I'm leaning toward. I hope it doesn't look too "chunky" though, which is why I considered the 215.

Mainly, I want to make sure I'm not going to end up with any rubbing. I'm sure others have gone larger anyway, and I'm running stock ride height.

Guess it's mostly down to personal preference.
