You are correct. Filter is a cartridge that resides in a sump on top of the motor. OEM filter kit is part number 26320‐3CAA0. The kit will come with the cartridge, a new o-ring for the cap and a replacement aluminum crush washer for the drain plug.I'm new to this forum (and to owning a Santa Fe, as we just got it last week). I have always changed my own oil and was surprised when I looked in owner's manual and was told me to take the car to the dealer to have the oil changed. I am determined to do this myself but have a question. In reading through these forums today, I've concluded that the oil filter is a cartridge type and is located in the top of the engine. Lots of posts talk about removing the engine cover to access the oil filter but it looks to me as if the filter is exposed on the Santa Fe. Am I correct in my assumption or am I looking at the wrong thing?
