Hello - I have a 2007 Sonata, and it appears that the oil FILLER cap ratchet is slipping. It just turns and I cannot get it off.
Can anyone tell me if I can just crack and remove the top part and then unscrew the bottom part so I can install a new cap?
I do not want to take a chance of anything falling into the engine.

Thanks, Bob

Have new part in hand, and do what you neeed to get old cap removed.. I had 1 a few yr back, get top off, and use whatever to rotate base out of cam cover.

Yes just crack the black plastic off, then use something to grip the remaining cap and loosen. Nothing will fall in motor.
