I just bought a 2010 Elantra GLS. What kind of oil is everyone on here using? Conventional vs. Synthetic blend vs. Full synthetic??

What about the viscosity? 5W20, 5W30, 10W30?

For the first oil change I used 5w~30 Mobil 1 synthetic and did it myself.
For the second my son took it to a fast change shop so I don't know :w00t:

I wanted to go with 0w~30 Mobil 1 ,

Yuma,
The manual for my 08 recommends 5W30 (conventional is fine unless you do a lot of city driving or live in/near the desert. Dallas probably qualifies). However, it also recommends 7500 mile intervals with the kind of driving we do. I changed it myself the 3rd time and the oil actually smelled burnt, so I've cut that back to 5,000 and it seems to be doing fine.

I had over 42000 miles in the first 18 months, almost all highway.

Interesting ... my '08 GLS has lists 5W20 as the recommended oil viscosity.
