Hit deer with 2016 Hyundai Sonata. Took out front grill, bent radiator a bit, and a bit more body damage. Had an engine code get set. Scanned it and it was P0326 Engine Knock Sensor Bank 1. Noticed a little bit of knocking sound upon acceleration, but seems to subside when backing off on the accelerator. What could be causing this knocking? Did not knock before hitting the deer. Don't notice any fluid loss except there is a pin hole in the upper part of radiator.
Follow wire harness down along intake runner 1and behind alternator there at dipstick tube,,,,,, you will spy a rectangle connector with a bunch of wires in it, and a small connector beside it.. that be the connector for knock sensor,,, is it plugged in ?? Is it broken or damaged ??
Haven't gotten a chance to check the sensor itself yet, but engine has a knock when accelerating that it didn't have before hitting the deer. With the knock, I understand why a code would be set. Just wondering what might have been damaged in the impact to cause the knocking to start.
