On a long trip, noticed my 1999 (manual trans) Accent started to intermittently loose power to where car would not go above sixty miles an hour , then suddenly it would accept throttle and climb back to seventy five MPH. This got progressively worse and now car is undriveable .Here is the up to date symptoms = car starts but runs rough for first five min then smoothes out to a good idle .At this point the foot throttle has no impact on the engine, in fact if you try to rev engine above idle with the gas pedal, the RPM's actually go down. Then after 15-20 of idling, the throttle become erratic and RPM's do not go above 4K.Bottom line is throttle response above idle is erratic to nonexistent.
