gereral1 thanks for posting! My 2009 Hyundai Accent 1.6L is running rough and has low power, loss of power. The check engine light is on and the scanner is reading 3 codes: P0300 Random misfire, P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire and P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire.

So I've just begun my research and haven't run any tests yet.

I wanted to start with cylinder numbers and firing order, can't find any concise info at all for these years.

Thanks so much!

First test is when cars cold remove coils indpect them. Then plugs inspect them.

Then have a compression test done on cylinders. Take top timing cover off and check timing belt condition. If your not sure about these items I have detailed videos on youtube.

If coils are good, plugs are good and timing belt true and crank and cam are in time do a propane test on intake manifold and listen for change in engine rpm. If it changes your intake gasket may be suspect.

Last test is to have fuel pump pressure tested.

On the compression test this will test head gasket. Also you can perform a leakdown test if the compression test fails to tell if its gasket, intake or exhaust valves.

Another thing that can cause power loss is a melted or restricted cat.

Ask members in main forum as there are certified techs on here that can help further.

Muffler hanger fix without welding. Fix that clunk noise going over bumps

By chance have any audio of what this sound is like? I can imagine there are dozens of different clunking noises.

I have a few myself that I haven't been able to locate yet.

Thanks

It sounds like clunk clunk I fist thought my stabilizer linkages were bad but to my surprise it was hanger. Jack your up. Check stabilizers with Both fronts on jack stands. Ball joints can make noise but symptoms include steering wheel vibration, up down movement when testing tire 12 6 position. Also failed wheel alignment (s) is another sign. Failed cup ends (bearings) at top of the struts can make mysterious sounds going over bumps. Motor mounts but very unlikely

Loose items like jack and bar of tire lock nut loose in trunk can cause noises. Glove box, stuff in your door pockets...

I simply wanted to know if you had audio to go with the specific noise you were repairing lol, that's all.

Have you experience with a P2177? I understand the general idea of it, but I can't seem to find anyone with an Accent that has had that code.

It's come up in the past before and went away by itself. Now it's constant and I am sometimes getting the hard start.

I've swapped some stuff out and nothing has changed. I'm not particularly ready to point to the fuel pump yet.

Hyundai manual in dtc codes does not list this but it links to generic obd code for problems with fuel system ex. Fuel injectors, fuel pump pressure issue or wiring to these items

What about doors, I know my old manual window 240sx was wired for power doors.

I have manual windows/mirrors, but the junk yard has a nice pair of power doors for only $180. Does Hyundai happen to follow the same path with wiring? Or am I looking at wiring them up myself.

Would be awesome to just be able to route the harness into the cabin and find a connector there waiting? Searching turned up nada on the matter.

When I get home tonight I'll upload wire harness pins and color wires for power windows . The loom is in the rubber goment between the door and inside body of the car. The plug is in that loom.

Cool so it is in fact pre-wired on all vehicles regardless of whether the doors are actually power?

This was already posted but incase the thread gets lost this is my current status with 2019 Hyundai Accent......

Sad to report but its time for a new car today. Bought a 2019 Hyundai Elantra Preferred fully loaded. Comes with sealed transmission and timing chain so no need to do timing belts anymore. I will still help people here. I have parts that are available at a big discount if anyone wants to talk to me. Shocks and stuts and end caps, bearings, and hoses for the throttle body and transmission lines. Also have a thermostat and gasket for it as well. PM me if your interested. As for any help with Hyundai accent 2006-20111 I will help out any with any questions. Thankyou admin for sticking my main post and videos to help people on here. Eventually you will see me over at the 2019 Hyundai Elantra forums helping new people out as well...….. The thing I noticed is the engine is coil over just like the accent so spark plug replacement in easy. Transmission is gravity fed and the timing belt is not rubber which is a great thing. The brakes are pads front and the rear are drums on the back. Has all this crash warning stuff and heated steering wheel and seats. Nice in dash display and three modes of driving and an option to switch to manual mode but really looks like a gimmick. HAs eco mode and normal mode and sport modes. The power steering is motorized and no fluid container and the throttle is electric so no more cables. Show total klm left on a tank of gas and hands free Bluetooth phone options. Cruise control and leather steering wheel. Look for my detailed review and drive testing on this car coming soon...…..
