Hi, we live on thee south coast of England on an small island known as Hayling Is.
My wife & I are just about to purchase 2010 2.2 Style 4x4 SF from a company in the north east of England.

Once we had one of the very first SFs ever on the road here in the UK. We know that some owners had clutch
problems way back then and was told that they should have done a 1000 miles or so before ever towing.
We will be towing a twin wheel caravan with this new one.... do we need to run it in?

Is there anything else that we should know or be aware of?

Hope to be active on this forum in the future sharring and learing from others.

Thanks for your antisipated replies... and advise...

kind regards JCH

I would definitely try to log a few miles of mixed driving before towing. If you cannot wait, I would limit myself to short trips initially, and keep an eye on the temperature gauge just in case. Also be particularly gentle on the brakes during the first 200 miles; new pads can develop a glaze if overused.
