Couple months ago i was driving and i guess a rock flew up and made about a quarter size crack right above my rearview mirror.

i got the crack filled so that it wouldnt spread and it wasnt so noticeable so i didnt get the whole thing repaired

yesterday i noticed 1 part of the crack looked like it was bigger, when i stopped i took a better long and i realized that it was about 4 -5 inches longer than what it was previously....

so much for having it not spread now i have to replace my whole front windshield >=|

I got hit with a stone today and the guy is outside right now filling it.

I don't know if they have a windshield that will fit right since the 2011 is so new.......

I figure I will drive it a few months and then get a new windshield installed....
i have already been driving a few months with the crack filled i guess its only a short time fix?

Some work, some don't....

But with this car being so new, even some of the oil change places don't have it in their computers yet, so I figure I will give it a few months for them to catch up and get the parts in and then I will get new one.......

I just hate driving a new car with a blob in the windshield.. my poor baby got a ding already.....

Could be worse, could be the body......
yea ive been driving around with it but it was up by the rear view mirror so it wasnt like in my eye sight

That sucks. I feel your pain. I think your insurance only covers if you have glass protection extra.
yea my insurance doesnt cover it and neither does Hyundai even with the higher warranty stuff

i know i HAVE to replace the windshield but i called EVERYWHERE local shops, big shops they all tell me that my car doesnt exist yet....

they also said that would try to fit a 2010 sonata windshield on it but id rather have it done the right way

i was even prepared to pay $500 from the dealer to fix this but not even the dealer can get the windshield

i have no choice but to deal with it

What is your deductible? If someone took a Bat and broke every window in the Sonata would you not be covered?

From what I found out, the Sonata Windshield was not expensive, unless your unit has the Heated windshield like many

Canadian models did.
deductible is like 700

and the sonata windshield is actually pretty pricey....i spoke to a guy from safelite and he said it would be like 2 months before they can even find a windshield and it would cost about 599
