Thanks, Jason - that's what I figured. I don't know if that will be valuable as I would never be in range with my phone but out of range of the remote. The bluetooth module allows you to start/stop lock/unlock the car and control the other settings of the MyKey system. The bluetooth module also makes it easier to change the settings of the MyKey. Yes you have to be in bluetooth range. I'm having issues with mine that I have been in contact with Kim about, he is sending me a new bluetooth module to see if that is the issue. It is a very, very simple install. I also installed a backup camera yesterday with the display rearview mirror.
Brother Please can you share the online store that you bought this kit I am really interest on thisI ordered the MyKey with bluetooth module, $350 shipped. Currently waiting for it to arrive. Kim was very helpful with my questions. The bluetooth app is on the Google Play Store.
can you give me contact of Mr.Kim ? i want buy a mykey for my elantra 2017MyKey
I just ordered MyKey from Kim last Friday and received it today.
I have a 2016 Elantra MD value edition.
It took me literally 45 minutes to install and remote start my car.
It’s plug n play, nothing else to do.
I highly recommend purchasing this remote start.
I’ll post a video tomorrow of the MyKey in action, I should have recorded my install, but it’s pretty simple but a little challenging.
Definitely worth the $
No splicing of any wires.
How do we get? it? No one is providing the link to purchase the MyKey Remote Start.I want to share my experience. I purchased Mykey Pro remote starter. The installation wasn't that bad besides to take front panels to get access to smart key modular. I have 2014 Sonata SE with smart key fob. Remote is true plug n play. Instructions are well explained and there is no way to make a mistakes. They only wire which need to be to be running (optional) forward to fuse box is orange cable which needs to be connected to defrost system so car will defrost windows if you leave it on before turn off car. Kit includes scotch locks so it is simple installation. I saw previous posts that some owners need to connect 2 wires together cause they mentioned that car wouldn't start remotely each time. I know that issue is fixed and there is no need to so it. See previous posts here where one of members put picture that he used paper clip.
All functions are working great bedside automatic door unlock (my car doesn't have welcome function build in). But this is not a big problem. By pressing lock button 2 times on my smart key will start car and engine will run for up 15 min if car won't detect smart key inside car. Hazard light blink every 4-5 seconds. This is better than blue link remote start where hazard lights blink every second. By pressing lock button 3 times will turn off engine. Say you started your car remotely but changed your mind that you won't driver car so you can turn it off.
Car will lock itself within 10 seconds from the time you close door and walk away from car. This function is turn ON by default but it can be turn off. A lot people are worrying that they will lock smart key inside the car. If that happened, car can be unlocked by using button on door's handle. Manuals tells you how to setup pin and how to enter it. Simple. I tested it and it is working.
Now I can lock car with running engine if I don't want to turn it off. I get out from car, close door, car will sound that smart key is not inside car, after that I press door's handle button 2 times and car is locked with running engine. Engine will turn off itself if I don't come back within 15 minutes. If you press door's handle button once after you close door car will lock but it will turn off engine within 90 seconds. Funny function but it is there.
There is function where car can start itself if battery voltage get below specific voltage level. This function is turn OFF by default. A lot people park inside garage. I wasn't able to test it since battery in my car is good. I use multi voltage reader to check my battery voltage at least once a month. I have OEM battery since I have a car, 7 years.
I think that would be all. I know a lot people are afraid to buy it but trust me there is wiring cutting like most remote installation require. I contacted to Kim and always got quick responses when I had some questions.
Range of smart key is around 100-250 feet. I didn't test it exactly and I might be wrong with range but I park my car in front of my house and it is good enough. Last weekend I drove my car shopping mall. When I was in store I press lock button on my smart key and 2 minutes later when I came outside my car was running. If you need more range, use blue link or get remote starter which comes with own key fob and I know that they have range between 1-3 miles. Best thing is that I use OEM smart key and don't need to carry 2nd fob.
I had blue link service for a 1 year when I purchased car and didn't work that well. Anyway blue link is expensive. I didn't record video when I was installing MyKey remote and I regret. I will try to record some presentation video. Ok that would all folks, I hope you will enjoy this short review. ☺?
