I have the same model as you and have just clocked up my first 1000 miles so still a long way to go before she is run in.

For normal driving seem to be getting about 34mpg. This dropped to around 31mpg with 4WD locked for the snow that we had.

I also did a 400 mile run to & from Dartmoor fully laden and with a roofrack full of kayaks and I was getting around 29mpg on that trip.

I hasten to add that this is all going by the onboard computer and that I do not know how accurate it is!

Just for comparison sake, I get exactly HALF of that with my gasoline 2008 2.7L V6, 4spd auto, AWD. Warm weather I get ~21.5mpg. This is with essentially all steady highway travel.
that's about right, the 2.7 V6 sold in the u.k. would return about the same values (far less than that in city driving)

Don't forget the small US gallon is only 83% of the real one - 40mpg imperial is 33.3mpg US and the 2.2 is a turbo-diesel.

I get 34 mpg from my 5K 2010 2.2 model, used to get 36mpg from my 2007 2.2 from new to 34K.

So far from new to 1000 miles I got roughly 35-37mpg with normal roads and some motorway driving. So far with full tank of diesel I have gotten 500miles out of it but this was on the day I got my car it just started snowing, and my second fill up I've gotten about 490miles. I really hope I can get 600miles next round

Gazza, so are you actually getting less from the new engine than the old? I thought the new was supposed to be much more efficient?
Yes I believe I am, I think it may be through the higher BHP on the 2010 model and I do tend to have a a bit of a heavy right foot??.

I find that Hyundai's MPG figures are a bit of a joke!

Gazza!!!
