Need to scan PCM and see what of the almost 100 different input/output circuit codes could be stored, along with request from TCM to PCM to turn on MIL and point you to the TCM for transmission code(s) if applicable..

Scan and report back proper codes (P-xxxx).

There is some 100+ codes for all the circuits involved with the PCM, could be anything,,, filling a fuel tank is not a monitored item.. flooding a canister so bad the charchol swelled and exploding canister that it would not hold vacuum during an evap self test, then we got problem, or charchol not allowing CCV to seal during self test... pretty extreme.. lets see what you have and go from there.

The light went off by itself yesterday. Should I get it checked out still?

Yes.

Code will lay in the memory until erased. Depending on nature of the code/problem area, light will either flash (attention required right now, not later, things will get damaged).. light on, something is up, and light out after being on is not drastic, but still need attention at 1st convienience.
