Not really any years to avoid, but there are things. I wouldn't buy any rust state vehicles, because this vehicle is prone to rust if enough salt is on the roads. Since you are from Arizona, this may not be such an issue, but I would try and find out where it spent most of it's life. The transfer case is known to leak in the 4wd versions. The timing belt has a short life at 60k mile change-outs, so I would make certain it has been changed recently. The crankcase position sensor(CPS) is known to go bad and I think especially on the 2.7 engine- it's not high priced and somewhat easy to get to. The CPS in the 2.4 and 3.5 is more a timing belt change cost(because of location)- so more expensive.Just need some advice on what to look for when looking for a Santa Fe.
Are there certain years to avoid? I will use it for light off road camping. Maybe some light towing in the future. But a lot of daily driving too.
Any advice is appreciated thanks!
