You need to decide if you want superior performance or looks or the best blend. There is nothing wrong with being a ricer. To each his own. If you want a brake upgrade because it looks nicer, do it. I get tired of people discouraging other people from just doing what they want to do. Its your money. You know that it might not improve your braking much, that's fine. It might even make it worse, that's fine. Will it look like you have a fast car with big brakes? Yes. If that's your goal go for it!

I don't think anyone is discouraging him from altering his car. We are informing him that the changes he makes will NOT increase braking, as the OP claims, but rather are likely to decrease braking ability. If he wants to take his from brakes off altogether, I could care less, he's not on my roads.

If you're looking for performance, better pads and fluid is all you need. Even a bbk wouldn't do you any good since it would throw off the brake bias. If you're going for looks, drilled and solid are perfect. Don't worry about cracks, you have to really beat on them for that to happen. I auto cross with bigger than stock cross drilled rotors and hawk HP+ pads with no issues. This is two full seasons on the same set of pads and rotors plus daily driving plus half of this season.
