Hi
Yesterday I stopped because of an incident in the road. The hazards were on, the engine was running, the radio blaring away. I got out shut the door, did stuff and then went back to the car and it was locked. Everything. All doors, boot, the lot. In the end I broke a window and got in that way.

This is a car I bought secondhand earlier this year and I have no central locking key fob, the central locking only works when you put the key in the door.

Any suggestions on why this happened and what- if anything - I can do to make sure it never, ever, happens again?
Thanks!

Can you not get a replacement key? It does not have to have the chip, just so you can unlock to recover your key. You should get one somewhere, even if it only unlocks the boot.

I got one cut for a ford with a mobile locksmith. (Think it was £12, but I did not call him out, I saw him working on another car)
