My 2010 i30 1.9 diesel had a full service by an independent garage.

Since then the engine has churned a bit before starting or taken a few attempts to start.

The garage said it was a defective new fuel filter. They just replaced that but now say the primer cap is defective - leaking when you pump it. The car now wing start at all - just churns over without 'catching'.

Could it be that the new pattern part filter is the cause if it's not sealing properly?

Am worried about them continually replacing parts until it's fixed - at my expense. The car ran faultlessly before their service.

Just wondered if anyone could help pinpoint the cause, based on experience?

Many thanks,
