Hello, fellow accent owners! Any one out there that can help me with this problem I have with my 97 Accent? I started to hear a knock under the hood when I shift gears. The knock is most clearer and harder when shifting between 1st and 2nd gears If I do a slow and drawn out release of the clutch, I won't hear it. I took my accent to the shop and had a mechanic to check it out. I end up having 2 bushings and a motor mount put in the rear of the cross member support. I can still hear and feel a knock when I shift gears. Could it be in the clutch?

possible he missed a mount. it is the first thing i'd look at without any driveability issues.

the clutch would not cause any knocking issues without major drivability problems.

tell him to do his job right and check the car before he gives it back to you.
