Hi all, my niece had her coupe (2005 1.6) stolen when she inadvertently left her keys in it during shopping. It was found soon after just left at the side of the road - minus the keys - What's the easiest/cheapest way out of this? Main agents can supply the key (£90) then programme it to car (£65) is there any way around this?
Cheers
Dave

Hello Dave, you've posted to the wrong forum. A 2005 will be a GK Coupe, not an scoupe.

Unfortunately there isn't an easy way round your problem. The immobilizer wouldn't be much use if it was easy to bypass. The only other route you can go is to find a scrap Coupe and remove the lockset and transfer it over to your niece's car, but you'd also need the engine ECU from the donor car too since that's where the immobilizer code is stored. I'm not sure that would any cheaper than just buying a replacement key from the dealer and it would certainly be a lot more work/hassle.

I assume she doesn't have a spare key?

Regards.
Scottie.
