I have also ordered a red ix35 highlander in late July and have been told it will be available on 29th Oct.
I even wrote to " ask Smithy " in the herald sun in Melboune and he tells me the wait is caused by the shortage of diesel motors.
I haven't heard of the upgrades but will be happy if they are included.
I would have thought with the rapid rise of the Aussie dollar that Hyundai could also throw in the navigation system available overseas.

Please let me know when you receive your IX35 and whether or not it has the upgraded items.
I am also waiting on a black Highlander. Ordered it early September, was told it will be delivered sometime in November. Had heard rumours that there wont be any until January/feb. My husband rang our dealer and they told him cannot get in to the system to get a date will call back, didnt, I then rang a week later, funny couldnt get into the system again! must be having problems with computer. I rang Geelong hyundai today to see if they had any in stock, and have been told that had fat chance of getting one from anywhere before Jan/Feb, funny they had no probs getting into the "system". I'm happy to wait, just a little honesty would be good Werribee hyundai! what has everyone one else on the waiting list heard? is it true, not until Jan/Feb?

Ordered my 2010 Highlander on May 5th this year.

Today I collected my 2011 spec Highlander. Yep, more than 7 months wait. But it was worth the wait because...

- Bluetooth Audio System with Bluetooth Audio streaming.
- Revised suspension dampers. WAY BETTER Than the 2010.
- Tilt/adjust steering.
- Electronic assist steering. Again WAY BETTER than the 2010 car.
- Reverse beeper thing.
- Privacy glass improvement (i think).

But $500 more. Lost the subwoofer. The ix35 speakers are not as good as my 2005 Tucson Elite. I'll need to replace them and maybe add a smaller subwoofer.

Finally received the Highlander on Tuesday.
It looks great and have now done 200km's.
First impressions are it is a little noisy at low speeds but once on the highway is pretty good with tyre noise being the only issue.
Acceleration is really good and it drives and handles great.
Front suspension is great but rear is a little firm for my tastes. I am sure it will improve or I will get used to it.
It is the MY11 model so it has the upgrades of bluetooth ( you loose the 6 stacker CD and subwoofer ) and has the rear parking sensors ( which are not needed as it has the reversing camera ).
I bought it from Attilio at Warragul Hyundai through Private fleet. It arrived on the back of a truck delivered straight to the door.
His service was great although I wasn't expecting such a long wait.
I don't think I would use private fleet again as they kept giving me the wrong dates ( mid december etc ) for delivery and so I think I wasted the $170 fee they charge.
The only fault I can see is that the paint on the rear passenger door window surround has air bubbles under it. I will have Hyundai look at it at the 1000k service.
