Mine dropped a little going from an 04 Sebring Convertible.

I changed my coverage somewhat, too, since it is a new car, but right now I just don't remember all of the specifics.

Even so, my payments are lower.

The Sonata being a "Top Safety Pick" (IIHS) certainly didn't hurt.

Mine went up almost 100 after coming from a V6. Ill call back in about 2 more months. I had my doubts when they asked how much I paid for it. I asked why? Well, we don't have a listing for it yet... WTF? THey didnt ask safety features, engine size or anything.

My insurance said the same thing in which why I was wondering. I have a feeling all of the features it has is not being picked up in which is making my insurance somewhat higher.

Dang.

You should change Insurance Companies.

My agent (Allstate) entered my VIN number and it identified all of the various deductions for anti-lock brakes, passive restraint, etc. (I don't recall all of them).

insurance premiums are very subjective, and based on different criteria..very hard to judge because its based on locale, prior driving experience, age, sex, etc..

but for me, being a 32 yr old male with clean history living in NY, I pay $500/ 6 mos for full coverage w/ $500 deductible. seemed like a good rate to me. Conversely, each Acura Legend costs me $300 for same period but thats just liability (too old for collision).

i'm paying about 5-10 extra per month, not much more considering I went from a 10 year old car to a brand new car. I expected it to be about that much.
