Hi all! I did some searching but I wanted to confirm with you experts before I went out and bought some bulbs.

The rear inner tail light of my elantra is out (see the attached pic.)

says that the replacement bulb is a 2825.

But, according to this post it is the 168.

So, which one is it? Thanks all!

Odds are just an interchangeable part. 168's are just a lot more common.

168, 194, 2825 are interchangeable.

You can even use 921 which is brighter, however, it is tight to put the bulb in.

I was able to use 921 to use for light. Only parking light is too small to fit 921.

168, 194, and 2825 are not interchangeable. They may use the same socket and same glass dome but have different electrical characteristics. 194 is the worst you can use, at is the dimmest of the three.

The owner's manual just says W5W, which means 5 watts with a wedge base. Both the 2825 and 168 meet this description, but the 168 is a slightly better fit for a car at 14V vs 12V. Your alternator outputs about 14V while the engine's running so a 168 would be preferable even though the battery outputs 12V. The 194 is 12V and lower current than both the 168 and 2825.

If you go LED, the above is all wrong. You can buy whatever, just replace all of the bulbs at once so that the bulbs' brightness and color all match.
