I bought 3 aftermarket ignition coils for my santa fe. The wire harness port that takes electricity into the coil was not fitting onto the coil. So, I filed the ignition coil port on one of the Ignition coil and made it work. But

Not sure if I would do the same with remaining two ignition coils or return them.

Is there any bad sides of filing the outer surface of the electricity input port of the aftermarket ignition coil to make it fit.

I don't really see any bad side if the connector is a good tight fit on the ignition coil. But you shouldn't need to file the coil to fit the connector which means they probably aren't very good quality components.

Would return other coils if they aren't needed
Filing down connectors to make them fit?
The down side is if the part isn't connected properly (can cause other issues)

I filed the outer surface of the plastic port body. This port body slides into another plastic casing at end of a wire that brings in electricity from the battery. did not anything to the metal connectors within the port.
