Just joined the forum today as I have bought a used i20 1.4 petrol 2009 in June 2018. I changed from a diesel to petrol so thought my over revving or stalling was due to relearning to drive a petrol car however the more I drive it I think the accelerator is sticking at the start when pulling away. My son has also commented on this when he has driven it.
What is the permanent fix for this problem, spray or new cable. If a cable is it just the inner or the whole cable - inner and outer?
Apart from this car goes really well

How old is the car and how much km has the car done on the odometer?

Most importantly, has the clutch system been ever change at least once? If not, likely cause for low power pick up and sticky is that the clutch system needs replacement.

If all the above cases are fine, best solution is to replace the master and clutch cylinders at a time.

Having been already facing the same problems by me, I'm sure my suggestions will help you cure your car.

Good luck.
