There's a little filter which is part of the evap system. You have to remove the wheel well under the gas filler tube to get to it. It's not mission critical. I would only replace it if I drove in dusty conditions, if I was having trouble trying to put gas in the tank, or if I was getting evap trouble codes. It's up to you.
