Hi,

I need some help or recommendations please guys.

I am quite clued up with vehicles and the electronics and mechanics etc and have overhauled a number of engines, including this one and other vehicles & trucks in my lifetime.

So My wife drives this 2009 Hyundai i10 1.1 GLS 5-Door A/T (PA) G4HG.

I used it to drive to town one day and about 20km from home at about 90km/h the Engine just dropped to an idle as if it had no fuel so I pulled of the road and opened the hood. Temperature, Oil pressure etc was dead normal. No Engine Light. Nothing. So it was idling but misfiring. As soon as I would press the accelerator it would slurp as if it was choking and cut out the engine. Then it would start again easily and idle with major misfire but everytime I touch the accelerator it would slurp and cut out. So moved the vehicle home on a trailer because its automatic and didn't want to tow it.

At home I ran diagnostics and it keeps popping Up P0108.

So I started by checking Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, Fuel Pressure, Ignition Coil, Spark Plugs etc which were all fine. Then I removed the Throttle Body and cleaned it.

Then I removed, cleaned and checked the following with their in and output voltages and resistance etc:

Throttle Position Sensor
Crankshaft Position Sensor
TDC Sensor
Knock Sensor
Acceleration Sensor
Temperature Sensor
Oil Pressure Sensor
Map & Air Sensor (Here I noticed that Voltage is supposed to be around 4,88V but measures 5,02V for some reason)

I removed the Map Sensor and tested it with Vacuum and seems to be fine though but I am not 100% sure because MAP Sensors isn't something I ever had trouble with before.

I can reset the Trouble Codes and when I start it just reappears.

I have checked all Vacuum Lines and Harnesess.

Only thing I didn't check is Fuel Injectors but I believe it was injector failure which is quite random it would still accelerate but with misfire and not be like it is now. When You start it would idle and then if You press the accelerator it would slurp as if it has fuel shortage and cut out the engine. But also one thing I noted is that if I press the accelerator very slowly it would gain revs but misfire. Only when i press down quickly it would cut out the engine.

Would appreciate any input that can point me in a direction here. If needed I can also drop links to a Video of what is happening and can Record and Upload Diagnostic logs with the Oxygen readings etc.

Thanking You guys in Advance.

That sounds like excessive exhaust back pressure to me, probably caused by a blocked catalytic converter.
You could try removing the upstream O2 sensor from the exhaust to see if that allows the engine to rev up any easier...see below.

HERE is a link to an old thread where I helped someone else diagnose that problem. Different model, but the same 1.1 engine. Pay particular attention to post #11.

If I helped you fix it, why not...

Your support is greatly appreciated
