Hello everyone,

My name is andy and my daughter has just purchased the above car,
my question is does the fuel gauge turn off when ignition is turned off or does it stay at current level as hers was just over empty when purchased she put £15 in to just over half and the gauge stays there when car turned off and key removed..

cheers

It is not unusual for the gas gauge to take a little time before the reading changes
However, it does seem strange that it did not show the additional fuel

How old is the car?
It's a while since I've done any work on one but I've a feeling the fuel gauge on the MK1 Getz (02~05 plate cars) doesn't drop when you switch the ignition off.

The MK2/facelift Getz came out late 2005 (56 plate). If yours is an earlier model (rectangle hazard switch above the radio) I'd say that means your fuel gauge is working properly.
