Yeah, this discussion is going on over at my thread as well, and indeed, there are quite a number of complaints over on CarComplaints regarding YF fires in the past couple of years. Seems to be a more recent development, but one that is quickly catching "fire."

Get it? Haha?

Watch my Sonata catch fire today cause of that. :59:

GDI, from all automakers, seem to have more fire issues. What did you expect from a high pressure fuel pump and GDI injector pressures?

Or, I'd wager its just the upsidedown loan owners just torching their cars to get away from the lemon.

Very high pressure fuel systems in cars that are not serviced properly by their owners.
Sounds like a recipe for some engine compartment fires to me.
This will be an issue in any vehicle that uses GDI no matter what the initial purchase price was.

Diesels also run at very high fuel pressures but diesel is not nearly as flammable as gasoline is.

And JDPowers, ConsumersReport, car magazines/rags... mean nothing to an informed consumer.
