Hello, was wonder how such huge gap was there on the left side of the upper shocker compared to right side about 2 cm. Don't know how to best describe the problem, the live pictures are attached herewith.

Does it thump on that side when hitting a bump?

Hi. I doubt you will be able to tell if there is a problem or not with the top fixing of the macpherson strut without further more thorough examination. The gap suggests there is a problem therefore my suggestion would be to have your local garage take a look. Tell us what the outcome is. Best of luck.

Yes it bounces heavily.....up and down
