Hi! I have a 2010 accent hatch and I want to use the lower center dash tray to mount a scan gauge.

i want to pull out that tray/storage bin thing right above the power/cig lighters and drill hole through the side of the drawer to run a cable back to the obdII port. How does that tray come out? I see no screws and have tried to push in on the sides of the drawer while pulling outward but no dice...

the service manual says to disconnect the tray. How??

In the pic below, i am talking about that storage tray that swings out.

thanks!!!

Just open the tray and squeeze inward on both sides while trying to lift it up, that works for me.

If you need pics, I can get some so you can see how it attaches. It just snaps on the bottom.

I've had mine out repeatedly.  It's really tough to get out of there the first time.

Stay tuned, I'll get some pics and maybe a video when I get home later this evening.

Good deal on getting that thing loose.    Unfortunately I've only gone so far as to remove the bin, never took anything else apart so I don't know. I would suspect removing that screw you can probably pry loose that whole panel.

I stuck an in/out car thermometer in the bin, the cable for the exterior sensor was tiny so I was able to route the cable out the bottom of the cavity (behind and then underneath the bin) and then under the dash.  The ScanGauge has a much fatter cable so that wouldn't be an option. lol!

Hope you can get it figured out.  That bin always struck me as a perfect place for the SG, nice and stealth.

well i can't get that lower center fascia off. i tried prying but she won't come all the way out. I knicked the edge up a little but barely noticeable. I will try again tomorrow. If I can get that fascia out i can see if i have a place to run the wire. if i do, i will drill a hole for the scangauge wire. will be most cool.

anybody have any luck getting that fascia off?? if so, how??
