I’ve removed the license plate assembly and disconnected the wiring harness but cannot find a way to remove the backup camera.

The actual camera is just held on by 2 screws, but the big grey plug connector itself is locked into the assembly and I cannot find a tab or a way to remove it without breaking or forcing it off.

It appears the connector slides on and locks in place but I cannot figure out how to remove it so I can replace it with the new camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a little barb on the bottom of the connector that locks it onto the bracket. You need to insert a small screw driver under the connector from the wiring side and lever the bracket downward so the barb clears the hole on the bracket. Then the connector should slide forwards off the bracket...

If I helped you fix it, why not...

Your support is greatly appreciated
