I would not worry too much.

Yeah it is high, however the engine is a well built 4 cylinder, it is designed to run at higher rpms. In addition, the engine does get quieter at 3k rpm the more you drive it (least it has for me).

Granted, I wish I had the new 5th gear because the lower RPM's do help mileage (and top speed :whistling: ), however being able to pass easy without downshifting can be nice too.

With my modifications (headers, exhaust, throttle body coolant bypass, slightly larger tires, and k&n intake) I run about 38 mpg at 60 mph (~2850 k rpm) and about 33 mpg at 75 mph with 89 octane.

I imagine yours should be similar once broken in fully and the ecu adjusted properly to your driving.

It would still be nice to have the new 5th gear, I could probably break 40 =)
