I know that our cars with HID headlights have a self level feature. Last night with driving I noticed a sharp cut off of my headlights about 20 feet I'm from the car, a much different light pattern a night than usual. I think that the self leveling mechanism is malfunctioning. This morning the pattern was gone, after 15 minutes the same pattern came back and I swear that twice the headlights adjusted back to normal then back to the sharp cut off pattern (assuming dipped lower).

Has anyone heard of this and if so a fix?

I am just trying to investigate before contacting the dealer if it continues.

Thanks!

You can disconnect the leveling wire connector from the headlight and see if it stops changing. Otherwise it is probably the level sensor that needs changing. It should be on the drivers side in the back.
