Hello Elantra owners,
I have a 2013 Elantra GT and enjoying every minute of it. About 6 months ago, I replaced the head lights with HIDs with a relay kit. They work great up until yesterday my car would not start. My tech told me that it was the HIDs that have drained the battery. I know many drivers out there have DIY HID kits and I am wondering if any owners here have installed their own HIDs and have experienced any similar issues. Better yet, any experts here have any suggestions or solutions for me? I really want to keep the HIDs and don't want to go back to factory headlights. Thank you anyone in advance for any helpful posting.

are you using a harness for the HID kit, that links both kids together with the battery? if you are, the relay on that harness might be stuck and draining your battery. otherwise, there is no way the HID kit could drain it. once your flip the switch on your steering cluster, power is CUT.

do an experiment and remove the HID units and see if the problem still persists.
