:( My front dash slidder control is faulty. It won't stay put, it keeps slidding to the heat indicator. I suspect it could be the thermostat or some flap stuck.

It's good for the winter but even on cool it still give out heat
Pls help

the problem sounds like it might be the cable running from the slider (heat selecter) to the heater matrix it looks like a brake cable for a bike if the cable is too tight between both when you pull over the slider the tension causes it to pull back there should be a screw clamp at one end which should allow you to slacken and adjust it as long as there is enough cable to allow it

DO you mean, that the clamp for the outer cable is missing ????? look carefully, and you may find it, otherwise get a new one from your dealer.

Yes the outer sheath clip which holds the cable into place within the climate control terminal area has dislodged.
Your cable is no longer held in place and is free to move about.

Have a look, you will need to remove the centre facia, which consists of two screws behind the ashtray (will need to remove ashtray to get to screws). There are three cables that you will need to disconnect, two on the drivers side of the heater box and the other is behind the glovebox which to lower, you will need to remove the two black clips from inside of the glovebox compartment. Then pull the bottom of the facia outwards until the bottom pops out, then slide your fingers up and pull outwards again, repeat this once more and the facia will come off.

Have a look where the cables meet the controls and you should see some gold clips holding the cable to the control>

Good Luck!
