I have tried to search the threads for a solution to my problem and can't find anything the same with a solution so posting a new one in the hope someone can help. Apologies if it's going over a problem already posted. The problem is that my headlights don't work and the full beams only work when the stalk is pulled back (as in to flash someone) but not when the stalk is pushed forward to hold the fulls on. I have tried new globes and checked fuses so wondering if anyone can help with this problem??? Its an '09 model.

If the side/tail lights work OK but you've no dip or main beam headlamps, that's almost certainly a faulty stalk switch.

It's unlikely to be a wiring fault since the main beam flash is working which also means the headlamp fuses are OK too.

Don't know about the getz
But the Elantra is three screws on the steering column
And two more screws holding the switch in
Slide switch out of place and disconnect the plug
Installation is reverse. Very simple.

Maybe the Getz would be similar?
