Hi there, my getz will turn on but won't idle unless you hold the throttle. If you allow it to stall it will loose all power and nothing will turn on, you need to disconnect the battery for half an hour or so before it will power up again.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi guys,

I have solved the problem, I opened the bonnet and there appears to be an after market turbo on it.

I'm curious...how did the turbo cause the power loss you were experiencing?
I believe it is because the ECU was not expecting increased amount of air and was going into some sort of limp mode, and by taking the battery lead off it would reset the ECU memory enabling it to start again.

So when you say you lost all power and nothing would turn on you actually meant the engine would start and run but had poor performance?
