Hi!

I own an Accent 2004(in malaysia), during 1st service, my service centre, Kahbintang, tried to sell me a micro-compressor plus magnetic fuel magnetizer combo, which they claim can save fuel up to 15%.

Anyone has installed such devices and does it work?

Thanks!

Is the product you are talking about the one shown at http://www.micro-compressor.com ?

It looks like the compresser part would inject air into the intake manifold. This would result in a leaner fuel mixture. There is an interesting discussion on these devices from an engineer's point of view at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cains1/Fuel_s...g_air_bleed.htm

Fuel magentizers have been around a while and they are generally viewed as a gimmick - no real use.

These don't seem to have much uptake in North America although I understand they are very popular in Hong Kong and Japan.

Yup! That is the micro-compressor.

The interesting thing I was told by Hundai salesperson is if I have bought my car just one month later than I did, I would have gotten it for free, they seem to believe in its value and apparently are now installing it as standard feature here...

I'll know whether there's actual difference in a few weeks' time, post again...

Another performance modification worth fitting is the Ecotek valve. It's designed to increase fuel economy, increase engine performance, and decrease emissions.

You can check out their website at http://www.ecotekplc.com/

I've heard a lot of good things about this device and will be getting one fitted to my Accent shortly.

Actually the Ecotek valve does work particularly well with Hyundai`s......as they all run particularly rich, due to the conservative factory ECU fuelling base-maps.

The extra 5% of turbulent air that this device allows to enter the intake manifold when under vacuum makes a noticeable difference to performance & economy.
It should not be confused with Ebay resistors & intake spirals etc.!.
