My nephews car 2002 elantra started leaking gas near the gas tank by the first
metal bracket that holds the fuel, brake lines.

There wasn't enough room to cut out the 1 inch area of fuel line that was leaking.
We would have had to remove the gas tank to get more room to cut out the bad part. All the lines were so rusted we didn't want to move any of the lines.

My nephew came up with a quick fix. The fuel line is 5/16 (approx. 8mm).
I cut a 2 1/2 inch length of rubber gas line hose. Cut a slit along the length
of the hose and positioned the hose over the leak.Putting the slit on the opposite
side of the leak we used 5 fuel injector hose clamps to secure it.

No more gas leak!! We will install all new lines when it is warmer.

Good Job!

Thanks for sharing. Let's hope it remains leak free until the weather improves.
