would a clogged filter cause missing at idle and when you start to move off from a standstill and yet it runs fine at speed. it starts fine but idles bad and misses alot at idle. tune up done since this started. all new parts still have problem. any advice helpful. thanks for looking

Check for a bad ignition coil. Also check for any loose or leaking vacuum hoses. You did not mention status of CEL. On or off? Are there any codes?

no codes. swapped coil for good one no effect on problem. swapped tps, speed sensor, maf from friends car all good but no change.

Take a can of CARB and spritz it along the seam where the intake manifold meets cylinder head... likely find vacum leak at #2 or #3... quite common occurence on old baked 2.0L

Could be a clogged fuel filter, but not the usual MO. If you're not sure when it was changed last, then certainly I'd change it.

Clogged fuel filter will not make for random mis-fire.. might find 0171 lean code because of insufficient fuel...

checked intake and hoses for leaks none found. getting worse misses every time i takeoff. it is my luck snafu
