Driving at around 45mph out of nowhere my front windshield cracked. Coincidentally my Hyundai dealership was 3 minutes so I stopped by and they showed me a small pebble caused the damage. I think it’s ridiculous that a small pebble caused it considering my g70, g80, and azera all had numerous rock hits with no issues. Probably the cheap glass on these Elantras. Any thoughts?
Sorry to hear about your windshield - a real bummer! Based on the pic, it looks like something caused your windshield to crack. Not sure if your auto insurance policy covers this?
yuuup, thin, thin, thin..... tiny little rock chip decided to put a stop to everything and now the windsheild gets worse and worse by the day....
Going through my insurance its 500 bucks because deductible and such, so its not that bad. I have an appointment on the 20th to get it replaced
how do you know the glass is thinner? what if the rocks are bigger? or higher velocity? what if the rock is smooth, vs sharp? lotsa unknowns here. even temps can make a difference.
windshields are with-out a doubt thinner on todays vehicles. if You ever get a chance some time take a walk through a vehicle junk yard. you will see what i mean. temps do make a difference especially if its already got a crack i once owned a civic it started out with a tiny 1mm crack after a winter it ended up being nearly 4 ft long so bad i was driving on the highway once and i could hear & actually see it getting longer that's how bad it was. ended up trading it in for a VW TDI wich im really happy i did so.
Sam i will tell you a little about me. i beleive im a strate up shooter, & i tell it the way it is. whether You like to hear it or not. anyone that asks for advise if i no the answer to your question i answer it to the best of my knowledge based on my experience & findings & what i know about talking to other professional techs in the field i dont b.s. anyone with answers if i dont no something i research it & ask tech's. now getting back to Your original post about the odyssie, honda
odyssies's transmissions were really problematic so much so you dont see
any on the road anymore a lot of honda owners including accords. my dad owned 2. hes passed away god bless his soul owned 2 accords 1st one had issues with the automatic transmission 2nd newer one not so much other than it down shifted early when pressing the gas pedal less than a quarter of the way. so the early Honda's did have automatic transmision issues. i owned a few of
them but all were manual 5 speeds Honda at one time was my favourite sporty make of vehicle to drive not anymore as i mentioned above. how does a great manufacturer like Honda go from good to bad simple its all about greed...! use cheaper parts from all around the globe & joine Garbage Motors keep cost down Really? & they expect to put out a reliable dependable vehicle as before not happening with-out recalls, tsb's im no more a honda fan of there vehicles.
My car did this took, 2 months to get the windshield
