I have a 2005 Tucson with 150,000 miles. My lower control arms on both passenger and driver side front are completely rusted through. Luckily, we were in a parking lot and not on the freeway when we noticed .
I have also had a rusted gas tank strap that my husband had to replace a few moths ago.
Anyone else have this problem or did I just happen to get the extra rusty edition?

Before I left Ohio for Arizona, they started using a brine water they would spray on the roads instead of rock salt. While this was nicer for breaking down the snow and Ice, it meant salt powder went into all the cracks that the rock salt wouldn't and started a whole new level of rusting. Glad I left, no salt here.

On my 2001 Elantra, the front lower control arms were rusted through
Checked the recall sites and found my car had a recall on it
Got Hyundai to replace the sub assembly and lower control arms for free
So happy with that ... I replaced all four shocks and bought new tires
Now car has evap code that is driving me bonkers
