Agree, but check the rotor edge to see if any lip indicating wear. You can mic the rotors, but most likely if many miles, they'll be below minimum thickness:
New 1.10"
Discard 1.04"

As one can see that's only .03" wear on each side (.06" total) before rotor kaput, but if smooth and below the min go for it, and sometimes I'll scuff up the rotor face.

Is it necessary to replace the rotors with every brake pad replacement ?

Sincerely,
T.J.
What mileage are you at

I replaced my brakepads only at 79k with aftermarket

because they were squealing i replaced them again with OEM at 95k

I developed a loud thudding noise upon braking I think around 115k or so (especially when going down an incline). The rotors and pads did not wear together since I never replaced the rotors.

then at 130k I had to replace the rotors and brake pads again to stop the annoying noise (replaced with aftermarket, I bought a kit on RockAuto). Have had no problems since then.

During hard braking going down a hill, I hear a tick, tick, tick from the disk as though rust has wedged its self under the brake pad. When back on the flats the thud or tick goes away. Would it be rust?
