OK, I guess I got caught trying to fudge the issue on my 2002 Elantra on the Meet and Greet section,,,,,,lol. The engine started to have a slow to high surging idle and getting worst and worst. I sprayed around the intake manifold and there was one place that engine did rev up so manifold has to come off. After much cussin and many cuts to hands,,I finally get it off. Hard to believe the engine even ran is gasket was broke in 3 places and also between two cylinders,!! Also three of the injector areas on the manifold were very carbonned up pretty bad. Got everything all lashed up and My son had not marked the spark plug wires and after googleing it,,I see where there are several Different firing orders AND cylinder orientations,,!!?? Some list #1 being next to the coil pack (RH) and others list #1 at left end of engine.
Can somebody Please tell me which is correct and why so many different arrangements???
