Hi all. Hopefully someone can help me with this. I recently became the owner of a 2001 accent with 73k on it. The clutch needed changing on it so after stripping all that out when I put it back together I noticed that the fan switched on for about 20-30 seconds after turning the engine off. I've also had to disconnect the maf because it was running very lumpy after everything went back in. I'm not worried about the maf its only a few mine job to change. I'm just wondering if it's normal for the fan to come on like that? This is the first hyundai I've owned owned.

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies folks. Not sure what to expect as I've never owned one of these before. Is it normal though for it to come on even if the engine is cold? As in key turned until lights come on in the dash and then switched back off and fan comes on?

Thanks again.

that's a bad relay. the fan should not turn on with the key turned to off. i know my accent has never done that in the 6 years i've owned it.
