I went under to locate the source of recent occurrence of exhaust noise. Not very loud but moderate tone.

It turns out I can see to small openings of more of the 1/8" wide slit shaped along the lower collar directly behind the CAT flange. I took it to my local mechanic and they'll have a look at it. I thought they might be able to weld it but normally don't as the metal maybe too thin he said. The cut and put a new collar on if there is room over part of the old good pipe.

Anyone else having had this go on their SF. Its been decades since I have had an exhaust burn out or whatever. It gets very hot there and rust is unlikely from the inside.
