G'day all,
First post here looking for some help from those that might know more than me and that's just about everyone.
I was off roading in my excel as one tends to do and I hit my undercarriage rather heavily on a rock. This was traveling down a hill but soon after I realised the motor was running poorly.
Just prior to hitting the bottom of my car I had also passed through a large water-filled pothole spraying water fairly violently.
At the bottom of the hill my car was barley running. I thought I smelt oil. The car stalled so I inspected to see if any oil was running out. Looked OK, but the car seemed to be missing badly and would not continue to run. I left it for a while so as any moisture might evaporate. Even after more than an hour it would not run. I still suspect water was the problem, but could a rather heavy knock underneath the motor area actually jar something out of alignment? I did try and check a few leads to see if they may have been jarred off their connections but as a non-motor type person I couldn't really find much to check.
The car is still in the bush and may be burnt out by crazies by the time I go back tomorrow but was looking for any guidance as to what may be the problem. Also having difficulty finding a towie that would actually go on dirt roads even though they aren't that bad considering I got my car in there reasonably OK and would have been alright if I wasn't daydreaming and going a tad fast downhill due to gravity.
Anyway, thanks in anticipation of any assistance offered and sorry to offend any excel enthusiasts that may be upset I took it into such inhospitable environs.
