The following observed behavior may be normal, but after nearly two years, I noticed it only during the past two weeks.

In Eco mode, during spirited acceleration from a stop, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) indicator flashes a few times, then extinguishes. This occurs on smooth, level, bare-and-dry pavement; I detect no slippage of tires or anything unusual. These maneuvers typically involve turning during acceleration.

The manual states: “This indicator light blinks: While the ESC is operating.”

Does the ESC operate only during hard acceleration, turning or other conditions? Is the observed behavior normal?

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks. This Tucson has an unusually low mileage of 5800 miles during nearly two years. The tread depth of the OEM Kumho Crugen tires measured 11/32" during 04/28/2018.

Spirited driving in "Eco" mode? I didn't think that was even possible. Does it do it in other modes, (ie; normal or sport if you have all three?)
